Day 2 in Alaska started off, for us, at about 12 pm local time. After a long night of testimonies, and sharing each others hearts, we were kind of worn out. Little did we know how amazing day 2 would be.
God really began to show off his creations as soon as we left the church here in Soldotna, Alaska, with giant mountains clearly in view, and eagles roaming the sky. We were taken to a local beach of Cook Inlet, and shown mount Redout (pictured above).
After all the sight seeing was through we went back to the church to prepare for the youth service to take place later that night. We were kind of in a tight spot with instruments. In that I mean that we have 6 musicians, and only 3 instruments. We decided that we were being called not to ship our instruments from home, because we felt like God was calling us to use what he had provided for us. (Day 3 we will be geting the rest of the instruments from various semi-local locations).
I am truly blessed to be around people of this caliber. I feel like God has me (and the band) right where he needs me (us) to be. I really just pray that I would be open to his will, and hear his call.
2nd Corinthians 3-4 MSG: “All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jess the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.”
I pray that God sends us someone who is having a hard time, so that we may help them through that and show the love of Jesus Christ.
So glad you’re having this experience! I hope to see Alaska someday, too. I’m looking forward to following your blog.
