Well we made it back to Oklahoma safely. I just want to thank everyone out there who was praying for us. I want you to know that we prayed for you guys back home also.
It has been a little hard to adjust back to living here, with the heat and what not. I’m feeling a little sick, but nothing a little time in the gym can’t fix!
I just wanted to talk about how when you give all you have (time, money, etc.) and devout that to God, he will bless you right back. It was hard for me to sleep when we first got back because I couldn’t stop thinking of all the blessings we received.
When I look back at my life and how much it has changed since the early fall of last year, I am amazed. I feel so lucky to have made it out of what I was in with what I have. I now strive everyday to get better for God, not myself. If I can make a video that speaks to someone because I worked an extra 30 minutes on it, well I’m gonna do that.
I realize, however, that not everything will be easy. Being back home brings the same temptations of old. The Bible says, “Happy is the man who doesn’t give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love him.” James 1:12
One thing that continually has helped me with temptations is the promise of eternal life in heaven. Heaven is so much better than what we have here on earth. As a Christian there is nothing here on this earth that should cause you to even think about walking away that promise.
Another thing I have done, is surround myself with good Christian friends. I can rely on them for just about anything. In Proverbs 27:14 we are taught; “Iron sharpens iron, just as one man sharpens another.”. This to me says you need people around you that will sharpen and shape you, build you up. I have that, and I am truly thankful!
To wrap things up I heard some lyrics that I really like, this is out of Phil Wickham’s “Heaven Fall Down”;
“Come Jesus come, come like the rain
Open the sky; show us Your face”
Just think about that for a while.
