Horse Thief is a local band, that isn’t so local anymore. I’ve been a huge fan ever since the first time I heard their music. They are a band composed of 5 guys. Most of them growing up in Texas and then moving to the OKC area to attend ACM@UCO. They were recently signed to a UK label, Bella Union. They released their debut EP, and are already making plans to record a new album with a producer in LA. They play a different style of music from most bands, they call it “Psychedelic Folk Rock”. It’s a style that sets them apart from any other band playing today. When you hear Horse Thief, you know it’s them.

I got the pleasure the other day to watch Horse Thief play two shows in one day. First they played a short acoustic set at Guest Room Records in Bricktown, then it was a short drive down Classen to watch them play the brand new venue, Native Sound Stage. They bring so much energy and excitement to a show, that it’s nearly impossible to not enjoy the sound they produce. I feel very privileged to hear them at one of their last “local” shows.
